Waikiki, Hawaii
April 2007

Wow...Famous People Everywhere!

My Host Is: Pomai S.

Next: Tiki Jr. Meets His Maker

We enjoyed a beautiful Saturday afternoon with Pomai overlooking Waikiki beach at Duke's, enjoying the island sounds of Kapena. Here we are after the show with frontman and super cool braddah, Kelly Boy. Kapena is one of our MySpace friends! (Awesome!)

It's common to see celebrities at Duke's, and this night was no exception, as I quickly took notice that David Bromstad of HGTV's Color Splash show was standing nearby.(Awesome!)

David was very happy to take a picture with us. Tiki Jr. asked him if he could give advice on a new color. He's getting tired of having such a plain, unfinished wood appearance. He wants white teeth, red eyes and a green Ti Leaf colored outfit. (Sorry Tiki Jr. not gonna happen - we want you to remain Au Naturale)

It appears that Tiki Jr. felt a bit rebelious and got that Color Splash make-over from David anyway. With temporary paints of course. Thanks David - If you ever think about going in to the Tiki painting business let us know. (Bad Tiki Jr.! And no David didn't actually do this. We are just having a bit of fun...hehehe!)

As we were walking out of Duke's, who happens to be walking next to us? Andy Bumatai! He too was also very happy to pose with us, also telling us to come check out his show. As I tried to talk to Andy, Tiki Jr. kept repeating "Eh, you da' guy eh? You da guy eh, Andy Bumatai? I seen you on da radio!". Now TJR thinks HE's a comedian. lol (Awesome!)

We stopped by to check out the happenings at Sunset on the Beach. Tiki Jr. was off looking at the wahines somewhere. As usual. Takes after his dad. (Don't say that too loud...lol.)

Mayor Mufi Hannemann took a moment after introducing the Sunset on the Beach event to pose with us. He thought the Puna Gnome concept was pretty neat! (Awesome!)

Speaking of the City & County of Honolulu, with permission from police officers on staff at the Waikiki substation, We were able pose on top of a cruiser. Aunty Lynn will try to get a pose with them and her daughter's police academy class.

Here's us with the "Wild Hawaiian" Henry Kapono on a Sunday afternoon at Duke's. (Way Awesome!)

I'm not sure but I think Tiki Jr actually blushed and turned a shade of light pink when he met Mr. Kapono. He's a legend in the Hawaiian Music scene. That may be an understatement actually.

He just couldn't stop stuttering "This is so awesome, you're so awesome", in Tikinese. It made Henry smile and he may even have blushed too. Not sure about that though.

And here we are posing with Lawrence Kidder, who jams late nights at Duke's. He also plays at Mai Tai Bar on Sundays. (Awesome!)

WOW!
