Well
Tiki Jr. and I were starting to feel a little homesick
after so many months of traveling and decided we'd like
to go visit Tiki Jr's old stompin' grounds - Waikiki!
Fortunately, Tiki Jr's pop, Tikiyaki Sr. connected us
with his buddy Pomai for a few weeks of relaxation right
in the heart of Waikiki. I'm sure most of you have heard
of the place.
I believe the following travel entries will give you
an idea of just how much fun we had!

We
checked out the surf action at Diamond Head lookout.
Tiki Jr. insisted he was a professional surfer in his
past life, telling me he would teach me how to surf.
I had an even better idea. I suggested using my PUNA
GNOME sign that I have perpetually held out in front
of me to do some body surfin'. My sharp, cone-shaped
hat would serve nicely to "porpoise" under
the waves while paddling back out. I tell you, we Gnomes
are sure akamai!

Well,
we all enjoyed a most excellent Easter Sunday dinner
feast together. Tiki Jr. insisted on carving the prime
rib, as he always wanted to be the one "behind
the saw" instead of under it. lol. Note, Pomai
couldn't get a photo of everyone sitting together on
the dinner table, as we served from the kitchen counter
(as shown) then sat at scattered places to eat.
The dinner included the rib roast, sauteed mushrooms
in red wine, roasted potatoes and broccoli salad, along
with an apple pie and vanilla ice cream for dessert.
ONO!

Here's
that rib roast after it was cut, revealing it's perfectly
tender, medium-rare finish. That darned Tiki kept picking
at the meat while he was cutting it. Wait until you
sit down to eat, Jr. boy! It sure was tender and delcious
though, and Tiki handled that electric knife like a
champ, cutting us SLABS of rib roast, not just slices.
lol
By the way, Pomai knows food. Pomai really knows Hawaiian
food! In the words of Tikiyaki Sr. "His blog "The
Tasty Island" is on fire!" Go check it out:

Chillin' on the balcony at Pomai's place in Waikiki.
Tiki Jr. is quite the featherweight, making Pomai &
I concerned that a strong gust of wind might have blown
him over. His durable solid wood body might survive
the fall, but not without some bruises. lol
