SU! Su! Su! She came to visit us
in Puna. She missed us that much.
Now we are assuming that you have read our travels up
to date but if you haven't, well, Tiki Jr. and I visited
Su in Oceanside New York several months ago. Here's
that travel entry.
The shot above was taken at the end of the day so we
all look horrid...hehehe.
Su is a super cool lady so we all spent the day checking
out...

First stop...Punalu'u Black Sand
Beach Park! Yep it's actually black sand.

Green Sea Turtles often sun themselves
on this beach. See the one in the background?
Su & family walked around in amazement at the black
sand, something they certainly haven't seen on Long
Island. Actually the description of the beach nearest
to them kinda bummed us out. Come on people lets quite
polluting the beaches! Sheesh!

Wierdness...number 2. Ok, I guess
it's not so weird when it happens a couple times.
As we strolled down the beach we were approached by
the family above. We had our picture taken with them
at Rainbow Falls a few days ago. Visiting from Southern
Cali we have on the left Bruce, Donna, Sam & Jessie.
We quickly realized that when you are on the tourist
circuit there is a good chance you will run across the
same people at various locations. May be a good reason
to smile at everyone.

After we
had spent about 45 minutes here we decided it was time
to head on back to Volcanoes National Park to see a
few things we missed a few days ago.
