We then cruised over to Ken's Pancake
House which has been open Since 1971 I believe 24 hours
a day, mostly.

Ken's serves breakfast ALL day and
has specials like Taco night on Tuesdays. Very exciting
and pretty much everything imaginable is on the menu.
From good ole fashion comfort food to local favorites.
A recipe for success.
The place was hoppin at lunch time so we didn't stay.

We headed over to Queen Liliuokalani
Gardens next to Hilo's Bayfront. It is a 30 acre park.
Queen Liliuokalani was Hawaii's last sovereign queen.
There is some debate as to the wikipedia posting so
I won't expand on this information.

It is a beautiful Japanese style
garden with many fishponds, palm trees, a Japanese Tea
House, a small gazebo and a sidewalk winding through
the entire garden.
This place is very popular for picnicing and people
walk & jog the sidewalk on the perimeter of the
garden.
Within walking distance are the Hilo Hawaiian, Hawaii
Naniloa & Uncle Billy's Hilo Bay Hotels, as well
as, the great banyan trees on Banyan Drive.

It's a really neat place and we all
enjoyed skipping across this stone bridge.

In the distance is downtown Hilo.
We have spent a considerable amount of time down there
checking out the many little shops & the farmers
market.

We dropped in on our friend Rich,
on the right, working at the Hilo Airport Post Office
for a final farewell and thanked him again for showing
us around Volcano a few weeks ago.
He tried to get us a tour of the facility but the concept
didn't fly with the powers that be I guess. Their lose.
