More Than A Feeling

Hosted by Tony

Next: Jammin Since 1971

It was a very exciting morning. Tony scheduled us a visit to a local radio station, B97 Hawaii's Classic Hits.

They play a very wide variety of classic rock tunes through out the day. Tony usually tunes in in the morning for the DC In The Morning show and requests to hear a song from RUSH.

As we were driving in, the lovely DJ Yisa, announced that it was time for the Sweet Tooth Sugar Buzz question of the day. The winner receives a $10 gift certificate for ice cream at Sweet Tooth Ice Cream in the Prince Kuhio Mall. "Steps away from the theater."

Today's question wasn't to hard "What is the name of the of the woman mentioned in the song "More Than A Feeling" by Boston? Tony was on the phone before the multiple choice answers were even given.

C'mon c'mon he was mumbling then "B97 You have an answer?" "Mary Ann!" Tony was, for a brief moment, a winner! We informed her that we would be right down to pick up our certificate.

We arrived at B97 near downtown Hilo and finally got a chance to meet Yisa & DC in person. DC looked a little star struck for a moment in his aged and wiser Harry Potter sorta way. Tony and Star had seen him at the release party for the latest Harry Potter book at Border's. He said he was there with the kids but they were nowhere to be found. Uh huh.

Anyway, DC is the 6 to 10 a.m. jock and Yisa is on from 10 to 3 p.m. nearly every day of the week. It is the one radio station a person that listens to rock n roll can actually tune in to on this island and hear Motley Crue & Ratt on occasion. It is much appreciated!

Yisa, as it goes without saying is quite comely and has a beautiful radio voice. DC has a beautiful radio voice too when he imitates woman's voices. Haha DC...gotcha!

RG, who had been in front of the mic before, had a very brief go at the mic. A listener called in and requested "Wherever I May Roam" by Metallica in his honor. We all did a bit of head banging for a minute as Yisa looked upon us with a bit of amusement and embarrassment.

We had our polaroid taken with Yisa & DC and bid them a fond farewell with the promise that as long as they kept rockin' we'd keep listenin'!

Thanks DC & Yisa!
