Shea Day

Hosted by Tony

Next: More Than A Feeling

We decided to give a visit to our friend Star at Shipman Park. We pulled in and saw Star was not alone, but with his friend Shea.

After a brief introduction we thought Shea a rather pleasant fellow, little did we know we would be challenged!

RG, of course, wanted in on the action being the curious gnome he is. Star introduced RG to Shea and they were able to communicate, who knew!!?

Shea went on to tell RG how he is an Archangel named Melihok and was sent here to help bring a higher awareness to the planet. RG let out a belly laugh...yes humans could use some awareness now and then. Shea went on to say that besides doing that kind of work, he needs to relax and that he is very competitive and would like to challenge us to a game of paper towel roll tennis. We accepted the offer all though not knowing the game. We are always up to a good challenge.

Moa decided she was going to be on Shea's team and me and RG rallied on our own follies of teamwork. After all this traveling together I figured we could offer up a good match.

Shea warned us though, he had been four time champion so far, not to mention, his paper towel roll football legacy. We didn't even question that one.

I offered up the first serve and as you can see the size made no difference to me. The rules of the game were simple: throw the paper towel roll back and forth over the net when you drop it your opponent scores.

Shea was up 3 points and Moa dropped her roll. Score for us! She cluttered her dismay, and I thought, now where is Tiki Jr. when I really need him.

Things were getting tense on the court! Moa chattered a victory point and RG decided to sit the next lob out.

Star was brought in to celebrate Moa's victory point. Tall you may be, I thought, but I'm faster and with that a one two three up and over game tied!!

And who says gnomes got no play, I beg to differ!

Tie score. Sudden death overtime!

I met with Moa on the middle line to discuss final game play. RG was out. Shea was sidelined, all though continuing to make high pitched siren sounds of distraction.

Ten seconds left to go, to the right, then I faked left it, but to no avail. Moa flapped up and caught the roll before it hit the ground sending it back over. I was quick up and under. The buzzer sounded and it ended with a tie score. Wheww I sure didn't expect this to be so challenging...what a day!

We were joined by Jawk the shawk a French sea shark we met at the tide pools a few days back. Everyone settled down for a bite to eat.

Star went on to say how he takes care of Shea's needs due to all the work Shea must do during the day. RG commented that he and Shea had gotten along smashingly well and would like to come back for a ride on the Sheamobile. Then I remembered Tiki Jr. had decided to go for an around the island ride on his new Harley, now why do I have to travel in a box??

All travel issues aside I decided to watch Shea perform a healing session on Jawk the shawk. Shea went on to explain to RG and I that he has a great gift of bringing love to those that are open to him.
Darn right I heard Moa cluck in relaxed chickenry.

I was next in line and after a whoop and a holler and some guttural grunts,I felt my hat lift off and all the days of weary travel fatigue lift away!

What an amazing individual you are, we all commented to Shea. He just smiled and said he would perform one more healing on Koa Moa's other beaky half then we would all go for a ride.

Shea jumped in the drivers seat and with all gnomes, chickens and shark on board, off we went, into the wild blue yonder.

RG was quite happy despite all the feathers and scales he was dealing with. Star brought out his photo wallet and talked about the days when he was a rock and roll singer and him and Shea recreated the wonderful 80s in the pose below.

He also mentioned that he sells alot of cool rock collectors items on his ebay site Sold-With-Love and welcomed us to have a look. RG commented on the Sheamobile in the background and expressed his delight in a return visit to put the petal to the metal!!

Shea said he also sings and is one of the few singers that can match Star note for note. He also mentioned Star is making a movie of their adventures together and that they will actually be doing an event in the future called Shea Day where people could share their love for Shea and his healings.

We arrived back at Shipman Park and, of course, RG wanted a photo to take back to Travelocity and show that even the disabled lead exciting and self determined lives. Shea went on to tell us that he made a dvd called self determination and if we wanted a copy contact Stars email at starrising13@yahoo.com.

I thought to myself I am self determined to get a better box to travel in.

What a day this turned out to be, RG commented. So many new friends and fun games.

Star said we could become Shea's friend at his Myspace site Sheaburns@myspace.com and Moa also clucked in that she too had a site at Moaaloha@myspace.com.

We were gonna miss Shea the angel. We could feel him healing us even now. I knew I was a changed gnome with my eyes wide open to the possibilities of my upcoming travel and anticipated it with a new vigor. Star said he understood fully what we all felt and put his arm around Shea and said "Yep, that's my buddy Shea. Changing the world without even trying."

Thank you Star for introducing us to Shea and for being the cool dude that you are!
