The
day started pretty calmly until Tony took me to the
tailor/signmaker today. He assured me it would all be
ok but in retrospect I should've guessed I was going
to an engraver here in Puna known as StebbinsStudios.

Karen
and her husband Mark, are well known signmakers in Puna.
Thanks to that fancy computer she and Mark had my "Welcome
to Puna" sign fixed up in a jiffy.
I am pretty proud of my new sign. Makes me feel like
I have a purpose and a home. Sign was a piece of cake
the new shirt was not as pleasant.

At
this point I guess I became a little nervous. Having
the words "Puna Gnome" put on the back of
the shirt actually didn't hurt much. Kinda like getting
a tattoo where it only hurts while the needle is touching
you.

This
guys got taking publicity shots down to a science. When
I left the studio there were a line of koa tikis waiting
to be photographed outside the studio door.

Boy
that sign looks spiffy! I was gonna take a permanent
marker to it but decided to splurge and spend the big
bucks. Can't be representing Puna with a cheesy looking
sign.
