Learning About Gnomes!

My Host Is: Marilyn

Next: Class Picture Day

It was a quick trip from Las Vegas over to Potter Valley,California.

Our friend Marilyn greeted us at the post office and told us she had a whole bunch of new friends for us to meet and some fun surprises in store for us!

After a restful night we woke up early, drank some coffee, and headed over to Potter Valley State Preschool where Marilyn is a teacher.

We thought it would be fun if the kid's came up with the picture captions. It was!

“Our librarian bought us a new book about gnomes, and we learned a lot of new things, such as boy gnomes wear red hats and girl gnomes wear green hats. Also, they help injured and sick animals, but not goblins! They can live in the rain forest in Hawaii, and it is warm there.” This is my favorite book too!

“We made a habitat for him because he likes tall trees and there weren’t any in our classroom. He liked living here.” I felt right at home resting amongst the trees in my new habitat!

“We could hold him but we couldn’t carry him around the room. I like him because he has a pointed hat. He’s a boy gnome--see his red hat? They make furniture and cups for people.” All of my relatives are in the cup and furniture business and thought it was odd because I wanted to travel. I send them email's and tell them how much fun I am having!

“We looked for gnomes when we went outside.” “We couldn’t find any!” Keep looking cause I know there has to be one out there somewhere.

“One day it snowed at our school and I was afraid he could get cold, but he didn’’t!” I was fine but Tiki Jr. wanted to stay inside where it was warm.

“One morning when we got to school, he was gone!! We were so scared. Austin found him on the food cart with a bucket over his head!”

This was all Tiki Jr's idea. Just before class started I hid under the bucket.

It didn't take them long to find me and it was fun listening to them search for me!
