Bridges Ain't The Alternative

Hosted by John C

Next: The Happy Show!

With last nights festivities behind us we decided that since it was another beautiful day in the neighborhood, we would walk across one of Portland's many bridges crossing the Willamette River today. We ended up on the Broadway Bridge. That's the Fremont Bridge in the background.

Apparently Buford frequents the bridges of Portland quite a bit. Seems like everyone driving by was honking and waving at us.

This may be a good time to point out, for those not paying attention, that my sign says Welcome To P"ortland" in honor of this visit.

Buford quickly explained that bridges is a serious thing while pointing at the sign above.

He closed his eyes, placed his hand over his heart and said "Bridges Ain't The Alternative. Remember, Kids, If you're feeling sad and lonely, there's a service we can render. Call us, don't be afraid, you can call us....Maybe it's late, but just call us..Tell us and we'll be around."

We found a new respect for Buford after John explained that he, Buford, had single handedly talked several people out of taking this dire alternative to life. Wow..go Buford!

We had a chance to go to the Portland State University Senior portfolio showcase in the Ecotrust Building tonight. It was very interesting to see the broad range of design styles presented.
