Welcome to "Portland"

Hosted by John C

Next: Cosmic Gnomes

Oh Boy! This may sound strange but visiting John of Carleton Photography (He's pretty dang good too) & The Gnomes of Gnomar has helped to round out one of our first goals.

You see when we began this adventure we scoured the web looking for similar sites and fellow gnomes. We found Fritz the Gnome, The Gnomes of Gnomar and of course the Travelocity Gnome. If you have followed our adventures you know that we have now visited with all three of them. Very exciting...for us.

We were quite impressed that he had recieved publicity in USA Today.

And now to the adventures....

We arrived in Portland Oregon very very early in the morning. We waited around in our box on the door step for what felt like forever.

Tiki Jr. started freaking out after awhile so we finally busted out of the travel box on our own.

We patiently waited and waited and waited until we heard someone moving around in the house.

We began to chant "Knock Knock Gnomar...we are here...let us in...Knock Knock Gnomar...we are here...let us in...Knock Knock Gnomar...we are here...let us in..."

A disheveled John opened the door and gave us a passive..."Oh hey...hope you haven't been waiting long", while yawning.

When John managed to pull himself together for the day we visited OMSI (The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). It was fun! We checked out all the games and even learned a few things.

Decided not to check out Body Worlds 3 - we just weren't all that interested in spending time looking at dead people. Well I wasn't at least. Tiki Jr. was very disappointed that we didn't.

Went "camping" at the Casa de Everingham, and got treated to some mean margaritas! Tequila, Corona, and frozen lime-aid were among the ingredients. Tasty!

Tiki Jr. suggested some MetroMint Spearmint ice cubes but there were none available.

What's camping without a little popcorn? Next to mint water I had never seen Tiki Jr. go so crazy.

We didn't get any photos but he dove in head first and ate his way to the bottom!

We also checked out the Oregon Zoo today. It was a perfect day for it! The weather was awesome, and the animals were friendly.

This creature called a Jiraf was leary of us. Probably because Tiki Jr. kept yelling "Here Jiraf..Here Jiraf." John became annoyed by this pretty quickly so we moved on.

I otter know better.. ...than to climb on the decorative fence but I just had to have my picture taken here.

"Here Hippo Potty Mouth...Come over here little hippo potty mouth."

This amused several of the other zoo visitors but John & I had had enough at this point and decided to call it a day and spare the animals further harrassment.

Just as we were about to leave a park employee walked up to Tiki Jr. and said "Shhhh...we don't want to wake the sleeping beasties."
