We
woke to find a giant grey and white fluffy cat looming
over us. At first we were a bit worried as she was very
large and we are very small, but soon enough she let
out a tiny meow and started telling us about how much
she loves to eat, sleep, and chase moths. She went on
for quite some time droning on and on about her affection
towards shiny tinsel balls and jingly bells until...

...she
took off running when a much smaller but very fierce
looking black cat strolled through the room. Dharma
as we soon learned her name is the empress of the universe
and all things fall under her domain. Not wanting to
upset her we politely inclined our heads and thanked
her for being such a gracious hostess.
Soon Alicia came through and introduced us to her boyfriend
Erik and settled us into a lovely carrying bag and off
we went for a drive out to Long Islands infamous Hamptons.
Alicia is an artist and she informed us that she is
involved with a collaborative art project to create
a garden out of recycled objects. So that is the reason
we were making the trip, we would go and do the installation
and then return later for the opening reception.
On our way back to the opening for the garden, we got
into a minor bump in the parking lot. Two young "Paris
Hilton wanna-be's" were paying no attention and
backed their Mercedes right into us while we were looking
for a parking space! Luckily no one was hurt and the
damage was not too bad, but it definitely put a damper
on everyone's mood. One thing for sure is I don't know
if I ever want to be driving in the Hamptons in the
summer ever again!
Tiki Jr. didn't understand what "Paris Hilton wanna-be's"
meant so we googled her name and after a little bit
of reading and picture looking he said "Oooohhh
ok I get it." with a smile on his face.

We
made a quick stop into Lana
Santorelli Gallery East, where Lisa,
a friend of Alicia's is the manager and they were having
an opening tonight as well. Tiki and I had our photo
taken with the very lovely Jose Cuervo girl from Brazil.
Then we were off to the Garbage Garden at Parrish
Museum.

The
lawn of the museum was packed with people and we wandered
around looking at the very interesting sculptures the
artists had made.

Some
were very beautiful and creative and fun, while there
were a few that were just downright scary.

We
posed for a few photos and after almost being eaten
by a dragon; I politely asked that we could get back
on the road as I had enough excitement for one day.
