Cherry Is Everyone's Favorite Flavor!

My Host Is: Cherry Capri

Cherry IS everyones favorite flavor!

Entertainer, Fine Artist, Style Diva, Hostess, Homemaker and not the list of which, an Advice Columnist! Her advice column is called "Ask Cherry" in Tiki Magazine & CA Modernism Magazine.

Cherry has led a VERY interesting life. Her parents, shown above, were stranded on an island for years with several other castaways called "Gilligan's Island", I believe.

It was a fateful trip for the seven aboard the tiny ship, I understand that the weather started getting rough and and their tiny ship was tossed. If it hadn't been for the courage of the fearless crew The Minnow would be lost. The Minnow would be lost. Now where have I heard that before?

Rather than putting her autobiography here, I suggest you check it out on her website
www.CherryCapri.com. It's on the menu to the left.

We spent the early part of the evening at Cherry's house and listened to her new record with the Martini Kings, "Creamy Cocktails & Other Delights." We liked the last song on the album very much - Creamy Cocktail.

So afterwards, Cherry took us to the world famous Peppermill where the first "Pearly Necklace", Cherry's signature Creamy Cocktail, was invented.

Isn't it a pretty cocktail? It's very tropical tasting with vanilla, coffee and COCONUT! Tiki Jr. loved the coconut.

Needless to say - we sucked it all up and decided to not to partake of more and call it a night.

We couldn't post the recipe for the Pearly Necklace but found a great one on Cherry's website.

The Capri

The Capri is basically a Cosmopolitan without the Triple Sec/Cointreau. It is different from a Cape Cod due to the addition of the lime juice. And yes, it was named for yours truly!

2 ounces vodka
2 ounces cranberry juice (the good white grape juice sweetened stuff -
not Ocean Spray sugar water)
1 ounce fresh squeezed lime juice (or Rose's lime juice)

Combine with ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake and serve strained in a
chilled cocktail (martini style) glass.

Variation on Theme: The Cherry Capri!
Substitute the cranberry juice with cherry juice of course - organic
cherry juice from Trader Joes is the best if you can get it...

Let us know what you think after you try this recipe!
Better yet...let Cherry know.
