My Host Is: Cherry Capri

Sorry it has been SOOOOOOOOO long since our last travel update.

Between the week we spent traveling, or lack there of, during New Years stuck in the Denver Airport because of snow storms and the twiddling our thumbs we seem to have done in Sacramento for a week...WOW did it ever feel great to arrive in Las Vegas!

We were welcomed by Miss Cherry Capri who was our hostess for the whirlwind 2 ½ week vacation to Las Vegas. Check her out www.cherrycapri.com and www.myspace.com/cherrycapri

The main reason we went to Las Vegas was to attend Mondo Lounge Atomic Frolic. This was an amazing weekend long event dedicated to bringing back the Rat Pack era to Las Vegas. There were live lounge bands, great retro vendors, fun slide shows and lots of pinup girls!

We got to hang out with the show's producers, Java from
Java's Bachelor Pad and Futura Girl from Lotta Living a really retro..um..lishis forum. (Did I say that right?)

We met many new friends there! Our favorites were the pin-up girls. Featured in the shot above with us are Cha Cha Velour, Roxy Rouge and Miss Mina. They were all wonderful, however, Roxy "The Southern Belle", in the middle, has struck a chord in my heart!

This is a picture that Roxy signed for us a bit later in the evening. I just couldn't keep my eyes off of her. She is not only a pin-up girl and model, she is also a burlesque dancer!!! Vavavavoom!!!!!!!!! Check her out if you dare at www.roxyrouge.com.

I sent Tony a quick email to let him know I had fallen deeply in love with Roxy Rouge so he dedicated this photograph of a Red Hibiscus he took in Hawaii to her. It is now named "Roxy Rouge". Rouge means red or pink in case you didn't know. Roxy loved it. For real.

Tony did manage to discourage me from asking her to marry me. Beautiful Burlesque Dancer Weds Traveling Lawn Gnome In Vegas! What a headline it would've made. I am, however, still a confirmed bachelor. Gotta keep my options open with so many places yet to visit. Thanks for the advice Java. Being a bachelor is more fun!

Still feeling rather torn and heartbroken, Tiki Jr. challenged me to a drinking contest to cheer me up at about midnight and we may have overdone it a little...

Not sure either of us won this one but Tiki assures me I passed out first. He's probably right.
