An Unexpected Trip

My Host Is: Auntie Lynn

Next: Are We Lost?

Imagine our surprise when Auntie told us we were going on vacation with her to Las Vegas, Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon!

My mind was whirling with thoughts that I may be able to stop in and see Roxy Rouge perform again but time was short and we had a busy week ahead of us. May have been less busy if we weren't continuously lost as we drove around the Southwest. Thanks to Tiki Jr.'s map reading skills.

Our Hotel was smacked in the middle of the Strip. Travel Lodge. Next to Hawaiian Market Place. We visited here before with Cherry Capri. It's just like International Market Place. Nightly Karaoke and so much live entertainment. Even an Elvis Presley impersonator. I think it was the same "Elvis" as last time.

We didn't drive-thru and neither did Auntie and PK! Tiki Jr. and I got a good laugh out of all of those silly drive up wedding chapels. It wasn't long ago that we had been "pranked" by those frat guys into thinking we had gotten married after partying at that Gentleman's Club.

Auntie loved the light display on Fremont Street. A few people thought she was a bit odd when she started belting out "Viva Las Vegas" at the top of her lungs. Tiki Jr. joined her. We just told them "Eh, she Auntie Pupule, no make stink eye cuz." Seemed the appropriate thing to say.

No luck dis time. In spite of the fact that I told her we weren't going to bring her luck in Vegas, she held on to the dream. Unfortunately I guess our luck rubbed off on her luck and she left her money in Vegas. We should've just went back to Paris for a pastry. But her spirits would not be dampened.

ALOHA & MAHALO!!! How Auntie missed hearing those words and expressions. She missed seeing it and feeling it from others. No moa on the CONUS (Continental U.S.)! We made shua we shared Aloha and Love with those we came into contact with.
