Big Island Film Festival

Hosted by Tony V

Next: Where's Freddy?

The Big Island Film Festival is an annual event in Waikoloa, Hawaii.

Independent film makers from around the world and Hawaii submit short and feature films for this 4 day event. This year featured over 50 films & shorts, as well as, seminars, ceremonies, an award's brunch and a concert by slack key guitarist
Makana!

I was in attendance as the event photographer and boy was I busy for those 4 days.

I am also the person that designs a majority of the advertising and festival information. The image behind Hans is the 2007 program which features some of my photography in the filmstrip.

Hans and Freddy were given an Alii Pass which allowed them access to all of the films and events taking place that weekend.

While I was out taking photos they were enjoying the films and making friends.

Hans enjoyed the independent feature Sixes and the One Eyed King and wanted to have his photo taken with Scott Ford, who played Andy (left) and producer/director Ray Nomoto Robison (right). Scott is much nicer in person than he was in the movie. (He asked me to tell you that before you watch the movie.)

Hans had a lengthy discussion with Ray regarding his interpretation of the ending of this somewhat dark film. We will never look at the game Hangman quite the same again. Thanks Ray.
