| This
being our first Christmas on the road I was feeling a little nostalgic as I stood
next to Punagirl's Christmas Tree. Memories of the Black Forest and arriving in
Hawaii. All of the cool people.
| |
| |
| When Bob
& Punagirl's family started arriving everything became busy busy busy! I took
the opportunity to kick back in the Gnome Throne and just stay out of the way.
I have no idea where Tiki Jr was.
| |
| |
| Once everyone
had arrived, I and Tiki Jr were presented with this present! I shook
it, sniffed at it, and tried to guess what it could be for 20 minutes or so before
Punagirl's nephew, Ethan, had finally had enough and said to just open it already.
Ok ok. With the tension mounting I began to slowly unwrap the present...

|
| It
was at this point that Tiki Jr grabbed it and ripped all the paper off to see
what was inside. Apparently all the past
participants and Tony had collected enough money to buy us our very own laptop.
It is sometimes difficult to update this site using net cafe's and we will be
able to keep in touch with everyone, as well as update our MySpace site from the
road! Thank you everyone!

| Punagirl
told me I should meet India, her niece. She's a real live Valley Girl that likes
to hang out at the Whiskey & Troubadour. Since I had never met an
actual Valley Girl, but I had heard the song Valley Girl, I thought I would try
to communicate with her in her native tongue, so I said, "So like I here
your from like the valley? Like which valley are you like from?"
She looked at me, rolled her eyes and said, "Like THE VALLEY, there's like
only one, I'M SO SURE!" On a serious note though India really is
from the valley and had a starring role in the indie flick "Run Ronnie Run"
starring as David's Cross' daughter, middle Ronnie. She also appeared in an anti-meth
public announcement commercial. Like Way Cool, Fer Sure. Tiki Jr. said
he recognizes her from the commercials, him being from LA and all. |

| We finally
met Grandma. We had heard so much about her and her famous Southern cooking that
we felt like we already knew here. Tiki Jr told her about our meal at
Silver Grill and how sad he was that it had closed. We made Grandma promise to
cook us some Fried Chicken before we left for the road.

Punagirl cooked
up a fine South O Da Border style Christmas dinner. I love guacamole!
This is the first time I had tried it and before I new it I had eaten the whole
bowl.
Everyone was laughing as Grandma told me it was for dipping the
chips in. Oops. | |

As
the day came to a close we said our good-bye's to Bob & Punagirl's family.
Her nephew Ethan and I had spent a considerable part of the day talking about
his favorite baseball teams and players. We started to feel a little
sad about leaving Atlanta. I had lots of fun hanging with the Ozzmeister &
Bob and Tiki Jr. enjoyed an incredible week making friends and meeting distant
relatives from the islands. I barely saw him. We said our goodnights
and prepared for our journey to Sacramento. All I can say is it is a good thing
Grandma had sent along that fried chicken or we might've starved at the Denver
airport. More on that misadventure next update... (Photos:

(Thanks Aimee I appreciate all of your efforts and I will
see if I can swing a visit to LA while you are out there. Where are those CD's
BOB! :)) | |
